Imagine this – our flagship 93-point winning Heresy Rye, finished with French Oak, Ex-Bourbon barrel staves, and Sherry cask staves, nicely finished with these broken barrels for months….. Now take the whiskey, filter it and toss it BACK into a 15-gallon mini-barrel for another 11-months! That’s right, we
re-barreled these bastards and split a 53gal rye into four 15 gallon barrels after it was dumped and finished.
The result is a Distillery-only edition, not in distribution or available ANYWHERE ELSE except here, from us direct at Broken Barrel Whiskey. A rich and flavorful 100-proof edition that is welcoming and woody, with hints of sweet sherry and a touch of caramel and walnut on the finish. Not your typical rye, we certainly should have called this sucker a ‘double oak’, so don’t let the ‘Little” fool you – smaller barrel means MORE wood and these ryes bring home the oak!
